Evening meals

We don’t do evening meals but some of our local restaurants and cafes are great places to eat.  Below you will find our recommendations for the local area and further afield.

Loch Leven Seafood café  is a wonderful seafood restaurant that serves the freshest locally caught shellfish and fish.  It has, a simple setting with just amazing food and is just a 20 minute drive away. It is essential to book this restaurant in advance in the summer months.

Clachaig Inn This is either a 30-35 minute walk or a 5 minute drive from us and is one of the oldest Inns in the area. They serve good hearty food and have a large selection of Scottish real ales and Scottish Whisky. They have two bar areas, both with wood burning stoves.  One with a more rustic atmosphere (Boots bar), the other their lounge bar has a more modern highland theme. It is a favourite for outdoor enthusiasts. You cannot make reservations at this Inn which serves food until 9pm.

The Laroch  is a 5 minute drive or a 40 minute walk away. The restaurant/bar in Ballachulish servers beautiful food and uses locally sourced meats and seafood to make spectacular dishes.  It is essential to book this restaurant in advance in the summer months.

Loch Leven Hotel   is a 10-15 minute drive from us, offering very good quality food with waterfront views over Loch Leven, they also have a cosy bar area with an open fire. If you would like to eat in the restaurant we would recommend you make a reservation.

The Old Inn at Appin highly recommended if you like a steak!  You can find them on facebook and it has a great view of Castle Stalker, approx 25 min drive.

The Pier House Hotel at Appin Bay lovely hotel in a coastal setting food is very good mix of seafood and meat dishes. Lovely drive around 30 min drive.

There are other places in Fort William and Oban if you’re going to be out that way for the day.  Oban Fish and Chips is fab, the Seafood Shack on Oban harbour is great too.  Eeusk is a lovely fish restaurant.  The Nevis Inn, Glen Nevis, Fort William is great and the Black Isle Brewing Company on the main street in Fort William is good too.

Something a little more adventurous, take the ferry to Ardgour for pizza at Ardgour Ales – Friday evenings only and must be booked.

Cafes in the village and Ballachulish are Crafts and Things and The Quarry Centre who both do a lovely range of sandwiches, soups, cakes, teas and coffees for lunch.  Stiff Peaks bakery for artisan picnic items and cakes.
